    Hello all,

I whould like to ask if soneome knows if the HRI-200 is capable of working on analogue.
If yes, what is the 'mode' that works ?

Can it do/work as echolink ? Connected with the propper radio of course.

Is the radio connected able to ptt from the microphone ?

    Thank you

The HRI-200 is not a generic product. It will not work for Echolink, Allstar, IRLP, or any other linking protocol other that Yaesu's WIRES-X.

Quite a few years back, there were analogue WIRES nodes; but they have nearly disappeared. With the WIRES-X software, one might be able to get it configured in analogue (all the instructions has disappeared from Yaesu's website); but there would be very, very little to connect to.

There are are quite a few different ways to link analogue radio, and any one of those would be easier (and likely cheaper) to setup than anything that the HRI-200 could accomplish.

Currently, the only way to use a single radio and its microphone is with Yasesu's PDN mode, which specifically does not use an HRI-200. Instead, the radio is connect directly to a computer running WIRES-X software. This is available with the FT-2D, FT-3D, FT-5D, FMT-100, FTM-400, and FTM-300.

So my guess is that if i want to setup an echolink node the HRI 200 is out of the question on that. I assumed while i was reading about it on the analogue part that maybe it was for echolink. To bad.
