It's been probably over 10 years since I've been in a movie theater. TCM and FXM are visited frequently though.
The last movie was a couple of days ago, "Cocoon" from 1985. Did catch the ending of "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly" last night, but that doesn't count.

You might enjoy the 1952 documentary "Victory At Sea", about the WWII Naval battles. All 26 episodes are available on YouTube for free. The Richard Rogers soundtrack is available on CD.

I grew up watching "Victory At Sea" on Sunday afternoons, sponsored by Vince Wibbs, the Pensacola Pontiac dealer. He also happened to be the mayor of Pensacola, a position which was largely figurehead/city promoter. I had occasion many years later to thank him in person.

We watched it tonight--it's amazing how the footage was remastered. ...and those were some tough hombres to survive that war.

General Sherman said it best: "War is Hell."

I've won so many free tickets in recent months. I suppose theaters are desperate for customers; they make most of their money on concession sales. Ended up giving away the free passes since my wife had no interest in what are mainly action flix or horror movies. So we have been "binge watching" some series at home on Netflix.

Love that movie and will watch it every single time it comes on (unless the wife is present, then I cant)!

We just watched "Midway" a few weeks ago, not bad and fairly historically accurate.

Two this week. I Walked With a Zombie (don't be put off by the title). 1943 film. Cat People, about same year. Jacques Tourneur, director. Both above average B films.

    With the Marines at Tarawa.

"I Was There - Tarawa" b&w interview with a Marine combat cameraman who filed the combat on Tarawa.

Watched the German film, The Captain, last night (It's in black and white, subtitled: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6763252/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 )

True story and a depressing movie...but it's worth a watch just to remind you how awful people can be. (...as if we need a reminder.)
