Actually the DX was lucky that there wasn't another DX station 10 kHz LF of him calling for 5 -15 kHz split!

    Because

So if I have to "Deal with it" then option 5 is just as viable as option 1 and option 2

Oh by the way, I would never do option 5 myself, but why is it less viable than option 1 or 2
Being bullied off the radio is not a thing that any radio ham should have to accept.

But if BAD operating is acceptable then it works two ways. Simple really.

No. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Have had this happen on a few occasions, in qso with another op or calling cq. Some dx iota fires up a bit further down the band, gets posted on a cluster so the hordes descend.

The band cops start sending QSY QSY and as far as I am concerned could not give a hoot. Just continue with my contact as best as I can.

If nothing else pick up a few contacts with those who get sick of trying to make their way through the screeching mess and have a good time.

Well you may be right but I will be surprised if it doesnt happen.

I've been bullied off more than one frequency by a net coming on the air...

You would advise me to engage in malicious interference when that happens?

I wouldnt advise you to do anything, however if you were advised to 1 deal with it or 2 Dont play radio.
would you just give up and sell up? No ofcourse not. What is being pointed out on this thread is it's ok to accept bad operating
if the station is "DX" and it is OK to ruin someone elses enjoyment and force them to move.
In my book that is just as acceptable as option 5

Anyway I can see I won't convince many on here, so I will leave it at that.
As I said I wouldnt do option 5 but then I wouldnt do option 1 or 2 either.
The originator of this thread has a legitimate complaint, about bad operating,
but is being met with "The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the one" and its ok because its "DX"
    But its not OK

If you want a free pass to justify Deliberate QRM... you’re not going to get one.

The original complaint was short on details. Was he already in a QSO? Was a frequency he felt he was entitled to get used before he could? Was there a propagation shift?

These questions and more to be answered... never. But then, when did some rants ever need facts?
