In this video (made by one of my favorite bug ops, Lynn-NG9D, his channel is here at - https://youtube.com/user/NG9D) At about the 3:30 mark, Dan, K8QBS sends "QRX AS" as he gets his Speed-X bug plugged in and ready and then sends some very beautiful Code, give a listen!

I use KN most of the time with standard QSOs, I use BK mostly with POTA (Parks on the Air) QSOs and some other events because they are very short exchanges.

W9RAC, I also want to say thank you for starting this subject off. As a low time ham just learning procedure, and just learning Morse (Vale), this type of information is priceless.

KN is rather silly and very un-necessary in real world application...
Seriously, when have you Ever had or heard someone break in to an ongoing CW QSO / conversation???
Yes, on fone bands it's rather common occrance for someone to break in to join but not CW.... ;)

Just a data point, I worked a DL8 station at lunch today on 14.011 and every go-round he used KN :)

Don't sweat the small stuff... .it's ALL small stuff

In my small World, stuck between taller buildings with a STL on a balcony, many times hearing KN helps me staying clear, because I am unable to hear both stations, nor to copy third party QSOs.
So, YES to KN for me, maybe I'll use it too when able to ragchew, which will take... years.

Joe I hang out on 7058 in the mornings, if not in a QSO likely listening so if you get time drop me a line or call we will get some practice in. 73 Rich
