New one for me: XW0LP in Laos - on 80m FT8 early in the morning earlier this week.

Sad thing - Laos apparently is going to disallow ham use of 80 and 30 meters effective end of today... Simon is one of few active hams in Laos, and the only one operating 80 meters so it will be a while before this country can be logged on that band. I was really glad to have been there to call. But the good news is he will soon be on 160 instead - so will look for him there as well!!

So nice to have the DXPeditions back up and running!!

Great run this afternoon - took some time off work for an early weekend and snagged 3DA0RU, S9OK, and EL2DT all on CW in less than an hour!!

Granted I already had S9OK on FT8 so not really an ATNO but nice to have them on CW.

And the chap in Liberia, EL2DT, had just fired up with QRL? on 14.025 and I was his very first call after his CQ!! Five minutes later, he had a pileup and was working split. Fun to catch a cool DX station just the moment he fires up :)

Trying to get over COVID (thankfully I’ve had both jabs, I can’t imagine how miserable I’d be otherwise) but it’s wrecked my sleep schedule. I figured I’d flip on the radio and piddle a bit while I felt like sitting up and just scored Japan on 40m SSB!

I’m quite proud of my 100 watts into my G5RV Max!
