I'm retired, so I've got some time on my hands, and thought this would keep me busy , my son has pushed me along, getting back into my hobbies. It's going to take time to get into working with small parts again. But still it adds something different to my day to day. We've even resurrected my old workshop table and got the ground system hooked up, so the old radios and these electronics kits have space ( my wife didn't care for my radio gear in our dining roomha ha) but she's happy that the old man can have my own space in the security of the basement! I hear my 11 y.o. saying "mom, where's dad?" " He's in the tool room" downstairs:)

Only 1 radio used (IC9100) and it'is part of the entertainment system (40" tv, Marantz stereo 12" woofers & PC for tv & ham)
If need be the 9100 is remotable anywhere within wifi range using my laptop. The 3rd arduino build was the wifi remote hf antenna switch.

finally had a real-life no power situation for my generator autostart board today. Somebody wiped out the power, it worked perfectly - even made a cup - a - tea :) First real outtage since getting all the bugs out 3 yrs ago.

Good to be retired as well...

I have both a raspberry Pi and a couple of Arduino "clones". I cut my teeth on Z80 assembler as well as 6502, 6802, 68000 etc. My opinion is probably biased but myself I find the Arduino easier to work with and I have 58 turns on the coil so to speak. YMMV. 4 year old REQUIRED for assembly/disassembly etc.
