I am using HRD to control my IC-746 and Log using WSJT-X and JT Alert. Working contacts and all work as they should. In HRD Log my mode is set to FT4. However I just started working FT4 and have uploaded several log entries to LoTW, they process fine.

When I Download the confirmations from LoTW, the file fails to load. I open the ADIF file and see the "Mode" as MFSK with a sub mode of FT4.

Am I missing something here... I cannot get confirmations for FT4 to populate in the log...

    Comments please...

    Thanks

There is a whole video produced by WA9PIE (one of the owners of HRD) on this very subject. The bottom line is that under the ADIF standard, FT4 is a submode of MFSK.

I did what you said in the video made modes default then went in and added submode. Now in my log it does says Mode MFSK and submode FT4 and I uploaded the FT4 contacts to LOTW again but still shows data. When I go into QRZ log and import from LOTW it shows them logged twice it shows FT4 from HRD log and Data from the LOTW import. It does not do this with FT8 LOTW will confirm it as FT8 when I import to confirm contacts. Any other idea?

In my HRD log it says LOTW Sent yes and for LOTW RX it says no for all FT4 contacts

For the LOTW to match, BOTH parties need to upload FT4 QSOs with "MODE=MFSK" and "SUBMODE=FT4" (and I'm sorry, it wasn't my idea to make FT4 a submode under MFSK; we're just conforming to the standard here).

I've seen cases where one party uploaded as MODE=FT4 and the other party has MODE=MFSK and SUBMODE=FT4... and the person who uploaded MODE=FT4 has to upload them again in order to get a match.

And you can see some of this in a video on the HRD Software YouTube channel.

There was a time when HRD did not meet the ADIF standard for FT4. If you uploaded them before the fix they will be wrong in LoTW.

Yeah, that was 2 years ago though. We haven't seen much of this since then.
